ok got myself a timing light and had a little play and think i know what i am doing:eek: what i can't figure out tho is the dial at the back when i move it to say 20 it doesn't seem to do anything, but when the light is on it it does looks like it was quite retarded, managed to get it on idle...

yeah just been looking at them again seeing if i could do it myself with the gun i just got (not to sure tho :) ) when they did advance it tho the figures where better or am i just tunnel vision here looking at the final figure

cheers for the reply bud, I'm gonna check as much as i can over the weekend, been to a garage today and they want £40 hr they reckon i could be a tooth out on the chain. So if the cheap timing lights are ok to use i will have a go myself me thinks (if it ends up being that)

Can you hire timing lights? if not how much would you spend on one?

Ok thought i would share this, This battery has surprised me again, left in garage all winter and still had full charge when put back on last week good stuff

Not for road car bud and they re do them after every race meet high maintenance i know but just wondering if worth it. Might investigate with a spare i have in the garage

Ok bringing this back up, i should listen and pay more attention to what is being said in the first place and think a bit more logically. Ok so its not oil in the cv but in the bearings themselves, they take the grease out and put in car oil to make the wheel spin more freely Any thoughts

Yeah thought you guys might say timing, reckon i will let them deal with that make sure its set up properly i wouldn't be to sure the steps you take for that and even so they will be tweaking in that area anyways so hopefully it won't be to much trouble for them to sort.

Ok managed to get her started today, changed starter motor, dizzy and reverted back to old spark plugs i will try the bosch 4 again now its up and running. oh and I did have the fuel pipes the wrong way round:oops: Left running a while and seemed fine, turned off put some more fuel in started...

Scrap that swapped them over and boom started sounds like a tractor but will give it a run in see what happens
