Thanks for all the advice on the window film everyone, the hairdryer technique worked. After applying the film with the glass out the car on my kitchen table again creases appeared in four area's even if I tried heat while applying, but after pushing all the water out, then applying heat to the...

    Window Film - HELP

I have only found tinted film on youtube (which is a lot thinner) or safety film on a flat surface. I will try tomorrow with a hair dryer in hand to warm the material as it is applied rather than warm it up afterwards once the crease's appear. It is like putting grease proof paper in a bowl...

    Window Film - HELP

Thanks, but these i must admit are not your normal bubble size they are more creases than bubbles as in about 3" x 1" because of the curve of they glass in both directions. Heat has helped but need to do the next one with a better technique.

    Window Film - HELP

Thanks for that, I did think of heat but wasn't sure how it will work because upvc plastic expands in heat, but cling film shrinks maybe because of a melting reaction !

Fuel & Brake Lines - In or Out

Hope someone can help me make my mind up. I was going to bring my Fuel & Brake lines inside for my stage rally car, but it seems by looking at a lot of rally cars on the forum most of you are leaving them out. Am I correct and if so are you making covers off the chassis rails! Or am I wrong and...

Making reinforcement plates for cage Made cardboard templates out of cardboard and then purchased a £5.00 off cut of 3mm steel and set to work cutting and then bending the steel to suit. Mig welded all sections together, not happy with quality of welding, but it has been around 25 years...

Thanks Skinner for the photo's. The cage has changed quite a bit. I see yours has a flexible connection from the front section to the back which has allowed your mid feet to be positioned on the upper seat deck. If I try and do that to mine the front comes down the screen too much, as far as I...

Hi again Skinner Yes please the pic's would be great. I have already started the fabrication, but it would still be good to see how yours was fitted, plus I hope this blog helps others with the similar problems in the future. By the way I did need to remove the dash as you pointed out before...

Part 2 of my blog: Picture taken of all the parts purchased. Now the fun starts, well so I thought, I have already hit another stumbling block, Roll cage! I purchased the latest 6 point OMP cage after it was re designed so it could be up to MSA standards, and as far as I know not many people...
