Pics - My $850 micra now on the road with G4 coilovers, centrelines, exhaust etc

I think those Centrelines make it look real tough. Nice clean look. Your mate did a good job on the headers. Should make up a few for forum members.

    Got to laugh

Yes the 13's clear the N14 calipers once I did a little judicious grinding/sanding of the calipers for extra clearance (see web album). This was mainly for the factory Super S alloy 13's as the ones I'm currently using have better clearance and may have not needed it. I kept it to 13's for...

    Got to laugh

Thought I'd do a simple job and replace a left roof strip that had been missing since I bought the Micra. So I handed over $90 to Nissan Australia to get one strip which I thought would include all that was needed to replace it. WRONG. Just got the metal/rubber strip but no clips to attach it...

    Dyno Shootout

You're not giving the game away are you? Can't fit a 5.7L V8 into that engine bay, thank goodness!

    Dyno Shootout

Once you get rid of the exhaust and intake restrictions you're left with puny valves. Only serious way around it is to bolt on a hairdryer!

    Dyno Shootout

Sometime pm suits. Can fit in around you. Can do mid afternoon - like 2pm or otherwise at end of day when traffic died down, say 5.30ish.

    Dyno Shootout

You'd have to say I'd be disappointed to get beaten by anything but a serious effort! pm me if next Tuesday afternoon suits.

Hey Jash, want to throw mine on some time as a comparo? Around the 95hp mark on West Racing dyno so would be interested to see what your's reads. Paul.

    GTR vs Micra

Truth be told, I suspect a decent driver behind the wheel would've got better times in the GT-R's. But it did make me laugh! And yes, Fred, it was a great event. Lots of people laughed at the Micra on day 1 but that died down after they saw it doing a few runs!

    GTR vs Micra

The May 2008 edition of the (Oz) Motor magazine runs an article (pages 45-56) where they compare the performance of the R32,33,34 and 35 GT-R's on a test track in Perth. Just happens to be the very same venue and course (the Speed Dome) that I've previously run in the past in my Micra () and...

    EOI White knight parts

No matter how it went down, it's great news that White Knight is still in one piece. So congats littlebear on a great purchase. Paid more than that for my stock Super-S a few years ago!

    decat any help

I did a dyno run with and without a standard cat with a 2" flange and it made no difference. A turbo car would be different. As Fred points out a turbo'd car will be quieter as the turbine acts to muffle some sound.

How many NA screamers out there?

That's a great result with a standard bottom end. The Micra crank is very strong. I like your quad setup. Looks very neat. Good luck with your shakedown rally.

How many NA screamers out there?

I would have thought revs will be be more likely to stress your rods than compression ratio in a NA engine?

How many NA screamers out there?

I'd agree with you Turbo, it would be nice to have one of each in the garage to play with - who knows what might happen one day? SSUK, I'd say the standard rods, though feeble looking, seem to be up to the task in a NA project and even alot of turbo cars provided you don't go overboard with...

How many NA screamers out there?

There seems to be an emphasis on Micra turbo conversions but what about those hi-revving, NA Micras out there? I know they are thin on the ground but how many are out there in Micra land? To qualify they must have had some internal mods - cams, pistons, rods etc and of course rev to 7500+...

    Perth Motorkhana revisited

9.5mm lift. They're custom cams ground off a blank ex UK through Mathew Humphris, though they're a tried and proven cam used in rallying over there so you could say they're "off the shelf". Called 773 cams. Use standard valves and spring and shims (have standard cam's base circle). The 300...

    Perth Motorkhana revisited

Yes, that's spot on. I'll need to update my profile. Cam change has seen subtle but useful improvement in top and bottom end. There's always something else I'd like to try of course - I treat the Micra as a bit of a development project. And it's good fun to drive and see the suprised reactions...

I'd be very interested to see how you go with your cams and check out your dyno chart.

    Perth Motorkhana revisited

I don't have any footage from the outside unfortunately. I'm running special order Whiteline 24mm rear swaybars on stiffest setting. Using D2 coilovers which are again pretty stiff. Drives like a go-cart which is great for this stuff but I wouldn't recommend for general road use as hitting a...
