my facelift k11 turbo build thread

Ah ok, I should have refreshed, you've edited the post. These are the cams off ebay, I think you posted a link to them on msc too. "Group A Rally cams" I had assumed they were the 773's, hmm, certainly look different. Same 9mm lift though. I'll have to google the I.D. markings. Thanks for...

my facelift k11 turbo build thread

Need an additional 1.6mm ontop of the stock 2.5mm shims. I don't fancy paying for custom shims, so I was thinking of grinding a second set of shims to be placed under the buckets. However, the shim I was measuring them on was only 2.3mm and I was just eyeballing the 1.6mm. With the more common...

    ghetto turbo build page 2

Is this the corsa pistoned one, and you reckon the corsa pistons are better suited to boost? Or is this one coilpack pistoned and your giving them a beating? lol. Loosing track of what engine you have in it.

    773 rally cams. 1.0 - 1.3 - 773: 773 - 1.0: spec: 1.0- 196° 5.59mm 1.3- 222° 7.46mm 773- 264° 9.09/9.04mm Now I just need some 1.6mm(+/-) under bucket shims. I've got a spare set, plan's to grind them down but that's looking to be a p.i.t.a. Just researching other methods such as...

my facelift k11 turbo build thread

Thanks schoona. I used a FK Automotive street kit(cheap ebay ones) made for a Corsa B that's been adjusted to suit the Micra. It's only the front really, the rears are just shorter dampers, and you use cut springs as the corsa ones dont fit. They work ok overall, smooth ride on average roads...

not surprised mate, you've done most of it lol. Going to be all me from now on, I hope. What's your thoughts on the c/r for this t2 with no intercooler, either higher boost 8.5:1, lower boost 10.5:1, or somewhere in the middle?

my facelift k11 turbo build thread

Hello, this is my first blog as such, on here. It's a 1 litre facelift. I focused on aesthetics the first year I owned it, lowered on coilovers and put it on 13x7 re-drilled Ford Capri Brooklands. I managed to get the 0-60mph in about 10seconds from the 1.0 with cg13 cams and a ga16 airbox...

    suicide iminant

It should be just on the other side of the cowel, attatched to the ignition barrel. I believe it to be a little black box with a ring around the ignition switch, quite sensitive I presume, but worth looking for a loose wire or a loose fitting imo. I don't think it's a common problem, but you've...

I've read before about someones nats sensor in the ignition coming slightly loose, just enough to not be able to pick-up the chip in the key. That would give the same problems you are having I believe. It is a bit of a shot in the dark though. Matt

my ghetto $100 turbo build :)

I'd personally sort the fueling out first, then fit the cam, cams wildly effect the powerband on turbos don't they(?) Don't want to find out you'd have been better on stock cams :o Suppose it doesn't take long to swap em out for you. I wonder what a 1.0 exhaust cam would be like.

Are you still using the stock fuel pump?

my ghetto $100 turbo build :)

Ah ok, so it's nothing to do with an end rail fpr, can skip past that idea then eh, be more hassle than it worth. How's the mini vacuum device coming along, you onto a winner?

my ghetto $100 turbo build :)

No I don't think that's what I meant, I was reading up on what people do when turboing a n/a diesel, and instead of using an aftermarket rising rate FPR, or that brake pump system thingy that i think is on modern TDIs, they fit a 'boost compensator', which adjusts the fuel pressure to suit the...

Looking good frank :) Thanks for the illustration about the mini vacuum, think I understand what your doing now, still seems a little excessive, any thought's about a turbo diesel boost compensator(if thats even possible)?

my ghetto $100 turbo build :)

Have you got more info on how the mini vacuum will work, I understand that it'l increase fuel pressure under boost, presumably by exagerating the mani pressure when positive/under boost, but not sure how it fits on to the fpr in order to work. (from googling it looks like it advances the timing...

    another n/a project (page 2) :)

That needs to be made to work Frank, it's so very good. Your banded 12s with chunky tyres and them super-lows, it'd be mental. I see them wheels in gloss black with a yellow lip and white tyre lettering *drools* Matt

    another N/A project :)

That is alot of dish, they're going to look pretty sweet when done. Ok ta, I'm just going to stick to chassis rails, floor and sills I think, do the rest next year. Notice you've colour-coded the front bumper now, you colour-coding the rear and de bump stripping the sides too? And with those...

    another N/A project :)

Any pics of the full car frank? Will be nearly as low as me :O And have you covered all other parts, struts, panhard rod, as well as the underbody with your shutz mix? Do you recommend to do the same, as I'm about to redo my chassis rails, left most of the existing stuff on a speedbump somewhere:)

    The Micra Picture Thread

Thank you mark. Yours isn't too bad either :D Might be going back to stock/stockish soon as me mums got her mitts on it. As soon as they learn to drive they want to drive your car and then they want to modify it, parents eh lol.
