My neglected oxy-propane welder. Now I'm back using a MIG I have no need for gas welding. It's a bit dusty and as I have no history on the regulators/hoses/valves I can't charge anything for it. It does work though.
It's out of oxygen and almost out of propane, replacement gas bottles...
Oh right, nothing you can do really then. If you're gunna go to all the trouble of cutting mounts and chassis legs you may as well go for a rear engine conversion. Weld the front of the donor car into the back of the micra.
Cutting the chassis isn't a problem IMO. There's space to add a reinforcing plate. A 10mm thick plate welded/bolted to the length of the chassis leg would do it :p Old cars had unboxed chassis legs and they were ok (ish) so if you beefed up the area around the cutout it'd be almost as strong as...
Well, I have a few job interviews so as soon as I get a job or save enough JSA I'll insure it, buy 4x yokohama a.drive tyres, tax it and I'll be good to go.
Lol yeah, I don't wanna spend money on it but then I don't wanna be seen driving it in its current state.
Can't spend too much though, I'm saving up to do a Microcar Virgo motorbike engine conversion now I've found a supplier for the subframe.
In the hope that people might mistake it for a good car I've flipped the front badge, and took the stickers off the boot.
The car also came with no parcel shelf so some leftover 18mm ply, some carpet and a nail gun later and I had this:
Smoooth:
The back wheels sit central in the arch now, where I jacked the front up and dropped it back down the suspension was stretched, after I let of the handbrake it dropped back to where it should be.
