hi all changed the engine today and its still jacked up but when i put it in first gear i can still turn the wheels.... why would it be doing this? is it because there is no compression in the engine so it allows the flywheel to spin with no drag?

yeah, but so the gearbox is still attached to the car with all its bolts holding it in?

but can i leave the gearbox mounted in the car and just pull the engine out the top?

Hi all got my haynes manual and it tells us to remove the engine underneath the car.... if i support the engine and remove the engine mounts and gearbox bolts that hold onto the engine, should i be able to lift the engine out of the bay? i cant be bothered removing the suspension and the...

order myself a manual today should arrive within the next 2 days... getting one of the jap spec black top motors... hopefully the timing chain wont brake in this at 77000 kms like my previous engine did
