When I bought my Afr gauge it said in the user manual the minimum distance to the head etc. Decide which one you want then download the manual

Yep just drilled and tapped, with a bit of jb weld to help seal and fix in place

Was intended for a map sensor but there's no reason why they could not be used for vacuum.

Make sure the waste gate is jammed open so that there's less going through it.

What ecu are you going for?

Not used haltech, mine runs on megasquirt. Only thing to check is that the map sensor is capable of taking boost.

Off the top of my head its 55kpa.

I run megasquirt and I ditched alpha-n for itb load sensing which uses a combination of tps&map. It made the engine much more drivable as a daily car.

I used gsxr srad ITB's the spacing is pretty much spot on

I use a simple home made catch can an all I've had out of its is a bit of water. I don't bother with the pcv valve as I'm running ITB's. Engine breathing is very simple, its amazing how many people get confused by it.

Only if fitted by the factory. Most pre 92 cars won't have one If you can pass the emissions test without one ( nearly impossible) on a road side test they won't be interested why its not there
