What makes it high comp? 1.0 pistons? It could well be a head gasket. Best bet is to do a leakdown test and get the water tested for signs of combustion.

Started ripping the engine out, I would love to meet the guy who designed the inlet manifold. The two middle bolts on the underside where a nightmare to get out with a full engine bay ( PAS, ABS etc)

Personally I'd go for the 1.3 box. The extra power from the charger will provide the extra acceleration.

@pork Buy it if you can :-p I've been reading that the mini guys use the GT17 wiyh good results. The A series is the same bore and stroke as the cg13 so I'm hoping it would give similar results.
