Some thing must not be right as he wants a nice clean 1.3 SR. Could be as ed says full of rust. Also is it me or are the brake caliper mounts too small for the discs? surely they should cover more area - other wise the brake pads wouldn't be hitting half the disc...

I know alot of people may have already suggested this to you but have you thought about getting a 1.3 instead? their only one more group up on the insurance and have around 75-80 off the bat - saves you spending hard earned cash on modding bits etc. Just a thought....

Having just the main manifold one on the car will pass fine - my old micra had the janspeed de-cat and that worked ok :)

I saw a 1.6 vectra where the chap hadn't even bothered removing the 1.6 and had just stuck a V6 badge on there. LOL

IIRC they do need a little trimming in the middle (as the ones I've seen come in two parts).
