Just putting out a big thanks to Nick for his help getting my a water pump to me so quickly even though he was on holidays. He truly is a credit to this community. I can now fix my car up nice and quick, and get her back on the road in no time thanks to Nick. :-)

Is it easy to pull the speedo out and replace with a KMs one from an LX?

It's really odd that your car would not start when the resistor was out. I had no resistor in my car for some time and the car always started. Maybe the electronics in the late model K11 are a little more sophisticated, and the ECU noticed a missing item? I dunno. I tried fixing my resistor...

Make sure you are using a fully synthetic oil if you wait 15000kms. I'd probably change it every 7500kms though.

I'll give you my perspective on it: I've also got a 1995 Micra LX, had 180 000kms on it when I bought it. The exterior is a bit rough, paint fade down one side, dent on the roof, and on one of the rear wheel arches, and a little rust. Motor runs alright though, and interior had a broken...

Apparently an R33 Skyline GTST unit is good to go too. Might be a bit cheaper than buying the Walbro new.
