A few people on the MSC have done this, iirc they needed to modify the mounting points...though as ive not done this myself i cant go into detail about it. Id suspect virtually any gas strut could be used (providing they have a suitable mounting point), as they all do the same job :)

Yeah had it made up at a local exhaust shop :) was the only way i could get the manifold to go around the supercharger (may possibly also be suitable for an aircon fitted engine ?)...you can see how tight everything is :D Its a slightly compromised design vs cost, but does the job.

Waxoil will help...you can gain access to the sills either behind the rear trim panels, or if you pull back the carpet you should find maybe two or three holes covered up with sticky backed paper along the door/sill line, peeling this back will let you get to the inside of the sill...or you can...

iirc the gearbox kicks up and id assume also down at around 10mph...so it could be something to do with the belts inside the box...which would be bad. Id suggest checking the cvt oil level. Also check the kickdown cable (its fitted along side the throttle cable) theres a quick adjustment...

over here in the UK, we didnt get any (as far as im aware) so when anything like this pops up, people usually go for it. The later model micras dont have the option for the top tray (dash is different), so this is the only way you can get an OEM cup holder to fit...this one went cheap compared...

On first startup they are quite high, then as the car warms up they'll slowly drop down. your readings seem similar to mine, though yours are higher. unfortunatly the haynes only states minimum pressures so i cant even point you in that direction as a reference. :)
