My second thought was timing chain but on listening to ones on you tube and descriptions i think not, also read the timing chain sheet on here which says no. As for sway bar links I dunno, doesn't sound heavy enough I think.

I have a rattle that sounds like a heat shield but despite being up on the lift in the grange twice and being revved, shaken and banged there wasn’t a squeak, then drive away and it rattles. It doesn’t do it at idle only when the revs just coming to change gear point, then rattles and stops...

I have now changed the disk and pads, easy job. The rubbing noise when you turn is now gone but alas there is still a noise however it is constant. It seems that it must be tyre noise that is left, its annoying still but at least I know what it is. I also have great brakes now that its all new :-)

The garage charged me £20 to take out my well seized pin bolt and today I changed the other suspect one, in all just needed to change two pin bolts and all the sliders good. Job sorted :-)

Yes its the bolt that holds the caliper to the sliding pins, I spent an hour today trying to get it off and its seized solid. I took a trip to a local scrappy after lunch and managed to get 4 bolts and three sliders for £5, bargain :-) I have to take the car to a garage to get this damn bolt...

Rang brakes international and some others and no good, it seems the calipers only fit a Micra K11 and only Nissan make the pin bolts. At nearly £40 a bolt and probably need 4 that's Nissan killing another car!

It could be a rubbing brake pad, it does have that kinda sound. Also when the wheel is jacked and spun there was a noise like that before the bearing was changed, I have not tried since. There is no effect on the brakes like a sticky caliber and they brake straight. I will look at the tyre...

Good idea I will find a hill and do that when I go away because I live in one of the flattest parts of England and no hills for miles lol. I and the garage checked the rear bearings and the wheels spin freely and silently.

No not worse at speed really, mind you at 60-70 mph theres quite a lot of noise so may just be hidden. It seems worse when you turn left at low speed which makes me suspicious of the garage claims it is tyre noise. Its not like a roar but a rubbing noise. I had jacked it up and tested each...

It sounds so mechanical though, like a rubbing bearing. Is that how they can sound?

Just been back to the garage who did the bearings and they assure me its now just tyre noise from the rotational tyres and that the bearing noise is gone, umm I am not so sure. Any one else heard of noise like a bearing from rotation tyres?

For some reason my sunroof will only tilt now not slide, it seems to hit something. It was fine until one day I opened it and changed my mind from slide to tilt quickly and never slid since. Anyone had similar problem and know a fix?
