You should be indicating before you're changing gear or direction. Changing gear down will cause your car to slow, so indicating beforehand will give people behind you some sort of message you plan to slow down.

Funnily enough, I've just been outside now spraying my spare tyre black. It was a bit of a mess but it's nice and gloss black now. Invest in some duct tape. It'll make a world of difference to the neatness, and you can stop it getting on the valve and tyrewall.

The CG10 speedo, with 13"s is about 10% out anyway. 77 on the speedo came up as 70 on my sat nav. Borrow a sat nav, and hold it at a steady speed (easiest is probably 30, 60 and 70) on the satnav, and see where the speedo sits.
