Right okay, I took it in for a full service and MOT. I mentioned this noise and they said they'd look at the top mounts for me. I also mentioned that in my previous MOT an advisory was that there was corroded front springs. I left it with him and got a call to say it had failed on top mounts as...

The garage said they'd look at it tomorrow morning. I'm concerned they might ask me to pay for more parts eg. new coils. How easy is it to fit top mounts badly?

I'm really hoping thats the case. It seems odd that it was fine and then it's gone back to the way it was.

Bad news. Upon driving my Micra home the strut mount popping and clicking has returned... I've paid about £300 at my garage for a service, mot and new mounts fitting and the car was fine no knocking whatsoever. 2 days later and its just like it was before :( I simply cant afford anymore repairs...

MOT went okay. My car failed on strut mounts and these were replaced. It's been fine however, just now I heard a knocking and some clicking and I'm concerned it's started again. I have no advisories and my car had a full service.

Got it back from the MOT. Failed on top mounts :( All fixed now though! With no advisories! :D Treated it to a wash and purchased a new boot lock spring. Now all I need to do is figure out how to fit it o_O

Thanks but I've tried this already with no luck :/ It's quite bizarre that even with sponges jammed into the back and tape on the locking bar that it's rattling away. Is there a way of tightening the lock mechanism as it's quite loose.

Yes I think I remember you telling me this before! I taken that off and just left it off. A tree fell on the back of the boot and dented some of the holes that this screws into so I don't think I'll be able to get it back on. The boots still rattling so I'm going to go to a breakers when I have...

Oh right I see! Apologies, I'm not that good when I comes to mechanical stuff, thanks so much for your help. I'll remove the spring and see if it the boot ceases rattling. I have a pet hate for odd noises in my car, spoils happiness somewhat.
