After gearbox No.3 gave up the ghost on my preface March I decided to trade up to a 99 facelift 1.0L :D Need to swap over a few little bits from the March but couldn't be happier with the Micra. No rust, no knocks or bangs, no gearbox or engine trouble and best of all has a rev counter too...

I find the best thing to align the gearbox (especially when working alone) is to take the head off two bolts and thread them into the block by hand pretty loose. Offset them at about 10clock and 2oclock. This will hold the sandwich plate in position as well as being able to support the box...

People in Japan have modified glanza and corolla inlets off the 4efe/efte lumps to work and use them with GA15 throttles but the chance of finding one is slim so a GA16 throttle can be used in it's place Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Took to stripping down and examining my spare gearbox to figure out why it was so tough to change gears and refused to select 3rd. Couldn't see any visible defects so presume it's just from being exposed to the elements whilst in the scrap yard. All seems to be working now and is reassembled...

Changed the gearbox. Bought a lemon though, it was seized, pity I didn't check until I had the lot back together. [emoji35] managed to get the gearbox free'd up enough to move and slowly it returned to normal minus third gear which I still can't seem to select. Also at the point of giving up...
