What a pain in the ass idea...definitely renault! :doh: if i were you, i'd find out what rating that broken bit was, and wire in a remote fuse...like the ones i have to replace the dodgy headlamp fuse in the K11's...Two wires with a single fuse holder on the end...£48 saved!

Haha, slightly!! I didn't even notice until i was about to put it back on! :o The alloys were advertised as 15's, turned out to be 14's though, which suits me fine! :p

Every exhaust nut/bolt i've undone has been rusty and seized...the time you would spend(waste) trying to undo it and force it to climb over all the corroded threads is easily save by either a mini hacksaw or the old grinder if you want it done yesterday! New bolts n nuts are so much better when...

These are the only two i have...if i refit it to the car, i'll measure it before i do (Y)

Just a suggestion, i fitted my old induction kit the other day, and instead of farting about with ducting hose, i left the standard box's air feed where it was, and just cut it off right in front of the filter :p voila, one cold air feed, cost me 2 mins with a penknife-saw!

It might be the spindle for the wiper arm mate, it usually is...undo the wiper arm nut, wiggle the arm off (take note of it's original position, i used a dry wipe marker) and lift off the black rubber doughnut thingy that fits over the spindle...now drown it in some light oil/silicone spray...

Here's hopin it's just a c/v ya need Andy! Cheers Solarice (Y) the wheel bearings are possible to fit mate, i watched Stani do his a little while ago...it's a case of tappety-tapping the new one in, using the old one as a block to hit...he did a 12, 6, 9, 3 pattern of strikes untill it...

Ahh, it could be the c/v joint, quite easy to replace, or it might be a wheel bearing...it can be done, but it's a lot of whacking with hammers and improvising to get the old one out, and in true Haynes language, refitting is a reversal of removal!! With a bit of luck, it's the c/v joint! :p

Well i found my problems...they were right in front of me, the top bolt on the leg was loose, wouldn't tighten, so i undid it and found the threads were gone, just a shiny spindle...threw the broken one away and replaced it, re-tightened the lower one (carefully this time) went to put the wheel...

Yeah man, had it off last night (:grinning:) The top of the shock, the chromed piston under the rubber seems to have some play just under the top mount when i move the leg about...going to have a proper look tomorrow, i should have mentioned that the front shocks/springs were off the wrecked...

Howdy people, the SR has decided to be a giant vibrator for the last day or so...had a look at it and there's a lot of play in the o/s front wheel, both 3-9 and 12-6 o'clock, and if i hold the top of the shock from inside the wheel arch and shake the caliper assembly i can feel movement in...

Fitted the steering wheel from the old car, sorted out the self cancel this time too...and since there are four bloody grills hangin about the hoose, these two have been de-meshed, sanded and re-painted black, just deciding which one to use...the nismo one is "deeper", but the red one is much...

Took me altogether about 1 hout to make a de-cat pipe, that's with having to fabricate one of the flanges...total cost, about 6 2mm rods and some scrap metal. Bodging is easily the cheapest, most challenging and fun way to get sh*t done :p I say go for it, if you can afford a mig, it's gonna be...
