Thanks I've found an engine locally ten miles away same year and from a prefacelift so hopefully can crack on with it. Looking for a 2nd hand engine crane lol🤣🤣
Compression test just done
No 1 11.5bar
No2 11.75bar
No3 12.5bar
No4 12.5bar
Minimum is 11bar
Normal is 13 bar
First two spark plugs looking a bit steam cleaned.
0.98 bar max difference allowed between each cylinder. So slight difference between 1 and 2 and bigger difference of 0.75 between 2 and 3.
Cheers Paul I've been looking at this for last 2 days and tbh I'm thinking just get another 1.0 engine from somewhere. Might use the old engine as a project for my son. He's quite keen to strip it to see what happened. He's only 15 so could be a good experience for him. I have heard that the...
Looks like my 1.0 prefacelift Micra has come to the end of the road. In the last week it's been losing coolant for about a week checked all the hoses and thermostat spent a fair bit of time underneath it looking for a leak and found nothing, heater matrix is ok. Bit more white smoke coming out...
The leak in the boot could be broken seal on one of the rear lights clusters. Leak in the front passenger side could be a leak in the scuttle panel under the windscreen wipers there's a plastic plug under windscreen that rots out. Also check that the sunroof drain pipe on that side is draining...
It's the fabrication of the metal that takes the time the bending shaping etc.ive been welding on and off for 9 years the hardest part is setting up the welder once you have done a lot of test welds on scrap metal then you can begin. Worst thing you can do is rushing the jobI always look at the...
No problem at all. That's what this forums all about helping other Micra owners. My Micra passed the MOT yesterday so quite relieved and no advises either not bad for a 23yr old car. Lol. I think eventually the whole drivers side sill will need replacing at some point it rusted from the inside...
That looks like box section. To be honest I wouldn't put a jack on that have a feeling it might crumple up. Your jack must have a tiny cup on it as most of the jack's I've had in the past are 40mm diameter which is enough. Not sure what else to suggest. Can you borrow a jack off a friend? I...
Hi the first picture if you were looking at the jack cup straight on the point would be lined up straight ahead. I have two jack's one has a small cup and the other has a larger cup. The smaller one will just allow the mount to sit in it and just touches the sides doesn't cause any issues. I've...
I usually jack the front up on the rear wishbone mount as in your picture as long as you get the jack central and turn the 4 points round so that they are either side of the mount at 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock then the other 2 points will be at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock if that makes sense. I have...
Good news Micra passed MOT today no advisarys so very pleased after all the welding it's had. Just bought some lanoguard to treat the underside and stop the surface rust spreading. I might spray some into the sill I repaired too as insurance lol
That's a lot of miles for a Micra. Mines only done 90,000. Just welded drivers side sill and the inner part took a lot longer than anticipated have MOT on Thursday. Im just doing a quick oil/filter change tnite and cleaning it up a bit lol
What you said about the pipe running down the a- panel is correct. It's a good idea to take the mudflaps off and give it a good clean as that's where a lit of the water exits. Have you got a sunroof? If you have there are two pipes at the front that run into the front of the sill. The pipes...
